Ethan's 18 Month Well Baby Visit

If you did the math you might realize that Ethan is actually 19.5 months old and not 18, but today was the closest appointment available to his 18 month birthday when I called in February. It was also at 8:20am in Salem which was VERY difficult for us to make. I had to actually wake the kids up and only had 15 minutes to feed/dress them which meant Ethan only got 1/2 a banana down and was pretty grumpy. But we got there in time and that's what counts.

We saw Dr. Farah and talked about his progress and what he's up to right now and it sounds like he's developmentally on track. I've been a little worried that he doesn't talk a lot but when I listed all his words out he has about 10 spoken and 10 signed words which isn't too bad. He's even started to combine signs to say "milk please" or "more milk" which is good. He's on the tail end of a cold and one of his ears wasn't quite normal because of it. I guess he may have had an ear infection with it but it must not have been a serious one because it's going away and he never spiked a fever.

The best news of the day? Ethan's weight is on the chart!!! That's right, he clocks in at the 3rd percentile in weight and we will take it!

Stats:
Weight 21 lbs 4 oz 3rd percentile
Height 32.5 " 45th percentile
Head Circumference 47.75 cm 45th percentile

He's currently wearing 6-12 month shorts, 12-18 month pants/overalls/shirts, and some 18-24 pajamas. Some of his 12-24 month hats are too small (Grace wore that size for 3 years!) and he's in a size 5 shoe. We're finishing up the last of the size 3 diapers and will finally move up to the size 4's all the time (we use 4's for nighttime).
